Figure skating boots & blades

Jackson Figure Skates

From a skater's very first steps to elite competition, Jackson Ultima boots and blades are built to grow with you — trusted for over 60 years.

Six decades on the ice

The Jackson difference

Jackson figure skates were born in 1966, when Canadian Olympic medalist and World Champion Don Jackson — the first skater to ever land a triple lutz in competition — partnered with his brother Bill to build a boot designed around the real demands of jumping and landing. What started as a family business became, decades later, Jackson Ultima, after the company brought Ultima's blade expertise into the fold in 2001 and united boot and blade design under one name.

Sixty years on, that same foundation still drives the brand: skates built by people who understand skating, tested with real skaters, coaches, and technicians, rather than designed in isolation from the sport itself. The Jackson Wrap System keeps the boot secure through every stride, while the Jackson Heat Mold System lets the support materials soften and shape to a skater's foot rather than forcing years of break-in — the same technology that carries a first-time skater's very first pair through to the boots elite competitors wear today.

Rapid Custom

Every skater's foot is different, so Jackson offers two ways to get a precise fit — pick the one that matches your timeline and needs.

Instant — in-store

Heat Mold

Your boot is heated and shaped directly to your foot during your fitting appointment — no waiting, no break-in period. It's the fastest way to a comfortable, personalized fit, built right into every Jackson boot.

2–4 weeks

Rapid Custom

Rapid Custom modifies an existing Jackson boot to match your specific needs — a faster, more affordable alternative to a fully custom-built boot. It's the right choice when a standard fit needs a bit more adjustment than heat molding alone can offer.

Frequently asked questions

Jackson Ultima FAQ

What's the difference between Matrix, Apex, and Legacy blades?

Matrix uses a lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum frame and has been the standard among competitive and elite skaters since the 1980s. Apex pairs a steel core with a titanium coating for a blade that holds its edge longer between sharpenings, well suited to skaters training frequently. Legacy is Jackson's traditional chrome-finished blade, a dependable option for skaters in their early years on the ice before moving up to Matrix or Apex.

What's the difference between Heat Mold and Rapid Custom?

Heat Mold is instant — your boot is heated and shaped to your foot right in the store, with no waiting. Rapid Custom takes 2 to 4 weeks and modifies an existing Jackson boot to address specific needs a standard heat-molded fit can't fully solve — a faster, more affordable alternative to a fully custom-built boot.

What does the Jackson Support Rating mean?

Every Jackson boot carries a support rating that reflects how stiff it is, from soft and flexible to highly rigid. A boot that's too stiff for a skater's current level can limit flexibility and increase injury risk, while one that's too soft won't hold up under more advanced elements. Our team helps match the right rating to your level, weight, and how often you skate.

Do Jackson Finesse boots come with blades already attached?

Yes — Finesse boots come with an Ultima blade already riveted on and factory-sharpened, so they're ready to skate in right out of the box. This is different from Jackson's higher-level boots, where boots and blades are typically sold and fitted separately.
