The CTT group alongside the Correct Motion team conducted a study to determine the sliding behaviour of the COBRA lace in comparison to two laces commonly found in the market. 

The maximum force that a regular lace can sustain was below 5 N while the COBRA lace was able to sustain over 15 N. The average was approximately 2 N for a regular lace and 5.75N for the COBRA lace. 

The COBRA lace which adopts the zig zag concept is able to tolerate 390% higher force than a regular lace before sliding.
